particularly with several tabs open in a browser and having Thunderbird open. However, I do have this fan running overtime/blasting noisily in my iBook with a Xubun 12.04 partition. which is the problem I'm having in my MBPro now running 14.04 at much higher temps than OSX does. Since you had posted on the other thread about 'iMac runs hotter' I made the assumption that the fans weren't running and your problem was heat.
